Management Accountant

Are you an ambitious Management Accountant looking for a role that’s as exciting and fast-paced as the industry it supports? Our client is one of the UK’s most decorated events and publishing companies, behind some of the most iconic and much-loved lifestyle, design, and construction brands. They’re renowned for doing things differently — blending creativity with commercial drive — and now have an opening for a confident, hands-on Management Accountant to join their friendly finance team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a lively, social environment and enjoys being part of a business where finance truly influences growth and success. You’ll be joining a supportive, collaborative team who work hard, celebrate success, and believe that work should be as enjoyable as the experiences they create.

The Role

As Management Accountant, you’ll take ownership of specific business divisions, working end-to-end across accounting, reporting, and financial planning. You’ll be the go-to person for everything from monthly management accounts to forecasting and budgeting, while partnering with directors, commercial managers, and creative teams to bring financial insight to life.

Your role will be a mix of technical and commercial — perfect for someone who enjoys rolling up their sleeves, working closely with people across the business, and helping shape the bigger financial picture. You’ll also play a key part in group budgeting, reporting, and supporting board-level decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce accurate monthly management accounts, forecasts, and divisional reports.

  • Support annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting across multiple projects.

  • Liaise with divisional directors and non-finance teams to provide insight and guidance.

  • Prepare reconciliations, P&L and balance sheet reports.

  • Assist with audits, tax returns, and other statutory requirements.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement within finance processes and reporting.

  • Step in to support colleagues and share ideas when needed — teamwork is key!

About You

  • Qualified or part-qualified (CIMA/ACCA) with solid management accounting experience.

  • A confident communicator, able to explain finance to non-finance stakeholders.

  • Organised, proactive, and comfortable juggling multiple priorities.

  • Strong Excel skills; knowledge of Sage 200 is helpful but not essential.

  • Previous experience in a media, events, or multi-project environment would be a bonus.

  • Above all, you’re someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys a challenge, and likes being part of a business that values creativity, collaboration, and fun.

What You’ll Get in Return

  • Competitive salary plus discretionary bonuses.

  • 25 days holiday + your birthday off (complete with cake and a gift 🎂).

  • Enhanced maternity and paternity leave.

  • Workplace pension.

  • Two legendary company parties every year — summer and Christmas.

  • A buzzing, sociable team environment where ideas are encouraged and celebrated.

  • The opportunity to grow and progress in one of the UK’s most exciting media and events businesses.

If you’re looking for a finance role where no two days are the same — and where your work genuinely makes a difference — this is the perfect opportunity.
